We believe that creativity is the cornerstone of innovation, especially in the fast-evolving landscape of design and technology. In the Creative Confidence Program for our Design Community this fall, we have dedicated time to explore a topic that is reshaping our industry: Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Purpose and Vision

The primary goal of our Creative Confidence Program was to empower our in-house designers and front-end developers, and to create an environment where learning and growth can thrive. By exploring the intersection of AI and design, we aimed to inspire our designers and developers to embrace new tools and methodologies that enhance their creative processes. This program is not just about learning; it’s about collaboration, exploration, and building a community of confidence.

Program Overview

With our partner Itera, we created a program consisting of four engaging sessions, each designed to delve deeper into the role of AI in design. We've taken a deep dive into AI tools, prompts and essential mindsets. Here’s a glimpse of what we have covered this fall:

Part 1: Intro and Insight

  • A mini workshop to map AI opportunities in the design process, led by our discipline leaders. This session helped us set the stage for understanding how AI can be integrated into our workflows.

Part 2: Look at the Bigger Picture

  • Speed talks on AI in a broader context, covering AI basics and its implications for design from our partner Itera. Participants engaged in small discussions around how to consider our role in this technological revolution.

Part 3: AI as a Tool in the Design Process

  • A creative workshop hosted by Itera that allowed participants to experiment with AI tools in the design process, followed by a social event for networking and collaboration.

Part 4: Future Opportunities

  • Speed talks about the future of insurance and generative AI beyond chatbots, culminating in a reflection task and summary of insights gained throughout the program.

Building Competence and Confidence

Through these sessions, we have hopefully managed to inspire, learn, and explore together. By examining AI’s potential in the design process, we have uncovered new opportunities that can enhance our work and the services we provide. This program is not just about acquiring knowledge; it’s about building a supportive community where new ideas and confidence can grow.
