Learning arenas
Design Guild
Every other week, all our designers across all tribes and business areas meet to learn and share their work.
Frontend Guild
The arena for all our front-end developers. They meet twice a month to share ideas, pains, problems and solutions.
Backend Guild
A community for back-end and integration developers across Gjensidige. Presentations, and discussions every other wednesday.
Collab sessions
In addition to guilds we do smaller, more hands-on sessions where we work together on specific issues.
Tribes, squads, chapters and guilds?
What do all these words mean, you ask? We're organized according to the Spotify Model - let's explain:
Squads and tribes
Our multi-disciplinary teams are called squads. The thirty-something squads (our organization keeps evolving) are spread across four different tribes, after business areas.
Chapters
To make sure designers and developers can collaborate across squads, every tribe have chapters: Design chapters, development chapters, analytics chapters etc.
Guilds
We also gather absolutely everyone from each discipline regularly. These meetings, called guilds, meet up around twice a month to learn, share and nerd out. As of now we have three different guilds: Design, front-end and back-end.
The tribes most involved in developing digital products:
Commercial
Make self-service solutions and webshops for businesses, big and small, in Norway and Denmark.
Private
Make all solutions for the private market - from purchase flow to new services like smart home products.
Claims
Make the solutions that help our customers claim refunds and manage expenses when damage is done.
Pension
Create solutions to help Norwegian businesses set up pension plans, and help their employees manage them.
Enabling platforms
Make sure other teams have the infrastructure and services they need - like design systems and platforms for websites and applications.
