A brand new brand

While Gjensidige's new brand identity was not a new topic in 2023, it sure was our main concern through most of it.

In March, the Builders Platform put its new clothes on, making gjensidige.se and gjensidige.dk digital pioneers of our new brand.

Meanwhile, the editors and product teams behind gjensidige.no were hard at work to not only update the designs but to move the entire website to the Builders Platform. On April 25th, we welcomed a new and improved gjensidige.no.

On November 1st, when a few new parts had been added to the toolbox, gjensidige.com joined the others with both a new brand identity and platform.

31 building blocks, infinite opportunities

To adorn the Gjensidige websites with our new brand identity, we welcomed the Feature header, USP, Product Buttons, Product Overview, Ticker, Contact, Table, Infographics, Feed, Archive and Trustpilot to our collection of parts.

We also refurbished all of our existing parts, and waved goodbye to the Topic and Frontpage headers, Link List Product, Single Product Table and Quote.

350,678 components used in Figma designs

Not only the platform was dressed in our new brand, our Core library got a massive upgrade as well. While the web editors were busy with parts on open pages, the many product teams around all of Gjensidige have been working intensely to redesign their apps this year.

The upgrade for all Core components in design and code would not have been possible without the effort from all teams proposing design upgrades, code changes and a bright eye from everyone helping with quality assurance and feedback. The adoption of the new corporate identity is really coming together with 350,678 insets in Figma from more than 30 different project teams.

Enhancing the developer experience

In Q3, our main focus was to streamline and simplify the developer experience of our design system, Core. This entailed a full rewrite of the entire library – resulting in

  • 9 fewer packages
  • 57,917 fewer lines of code
  • 125 fewer kilobytes of styling
  • speedier development
The amount of code lines in Core has been reduced with 47.3%

Accessibility and usability

The universal design of Core and Platform is something we work continuously with. We are always trying to improve through tests and tools, and as we enter 2024, the accessibility score for gjensidige.builders is 95.9 – an all time high.

Our Norwegian website had quite the transformation, moving from ten-year-old designs to NCI in one giant leap. This resulted in a 2.2% increase in the completion rate.

Accessibility score 95,9 from Siteimprove. Average score for the finance industry is 83,9

So thank you all for your valuable contributions and the great collaboration. We're looking so much forward to all the puzzles, challenges and adventures we'll face together in 2024! A very happy Christmas to all – we wish you a peaceful and merry celebration.
